Wash Your Vagina and Vulva Daily

How can I keep my vagina and vulva healthy and clean? It's no secret there are beneficial bacteria inside your vagina that keep its pH clean and healthy. What this means is, you really don't need to abrasively scrub at all. And by doing so, you may risk throwing off your natural pH balance and cause yeast infections or bacterial vaginosis. And you really don't want that...

What about cleaning your vulva and female external genitals?

Since the vulva has more exposure to dirt and sweat, you should be cleaning it in the shower, like you clean any other body part. It is best to use an all-natural mild soap that does not have any strong fragrances, and do not use a loofa. Less is more when it comes to ingredients.

Did you know smegma can occur in females?

Smegma can sometimes occur in females, and it may be the cause of vaginal odor. If you think you have smegma, the simplest way to remove it from your genitals is through proper hygiene.

  1. Gently pull back the vaginal folds.
  2. Use lukewarm water and a natural mild soap, to clean the folds. Be careful to avoid getting soap inside your vaginal opening.
  3. Thoroughly rinse the area and continue cleansing the rest of your body.
  4. Upon exiting your shower or bath, lightly pat the area dry.
